Furnished Finder

Furnished Finder renews your listing subscription automatically every year, and renewals are non-refundable, even if you cancel the same day. To avoid the next charge, you have to switch off Auto Renew for each property before its renewal date. Hiding or unpublishing your listing does not do it.

If you've opened your card statement to find a charge of around $199 for a listing you stopped using, you're not alone. Auto-renewal applies to every subscription paid by credit card or e-check, according to Furnished Finder's listing terms.

The quick answer

Log in, go to Account → Manage Subscription, find the property under Active Subscriptions, and turn the Auto Renew toggle off. Repeat for every property or unit you list.

Your listing stays live until the current term expires. You just won't be charged for another year.

Step by step

These steps follow Furnished Finder's own help article, Cancelling Your Subscription. If the menus have moved, search that title in their help center.

  1. Log in to your landlord account on furnishedfinder.com. If you've forgotten your password, use the reset link on the login page.
  2. Go to Account, then select Manage Subscription.
  3. Under Active Subscriptions, find the property or unit you want to stop renewing. Each listing has its own subscription.
  4. Turn off the Auto Renew toggle for that property. With several units, do this for each one.
  5. Confirm it stuck. Refresh the page and check that the toggle is still off. Take a dated screenshot. For written confirmation, email support and ask them to confirm auto-renew is off for each property.

What doesn't stop the renewal

  • Hiding your listing. Furnished Finder says plainly that hiding a listing does not turn off auto-renew.
  • Renting the unit through another site, selling it, or switching it to short-term. The subscription keeps running until you flip the toggle.
  • Ignoring the reminder email. Furnished Finder sends a notice before renewal, but it's easy to miss. Don't rely on it.

Two habits that prevent this

  • Turn auto-renew off right after you sign up if you aren't sure you'll want a second year. Your listing still runs the full term. Consumer advocate Christopher Elliott gives the same advice.
  • Set your own calendar reminder a week before your renewal date, whether or not you plan to renew.

If you've already been charged

Furnished Finder's stated policy is that renewals aren't refunded, even if you turn off auto-renew shortly after the payment goes through. You can still try to get your money back. Work through these steps in order.

  1. Turn off auto-renew anyway. That stops next year's charge, whatever happens with this one.
  2. Contact support the same day, in writing. Email [email protected] or call 1-661-489-5907 (both listed in their terms). Say when you noticed the charge and why you're leaving: the property sold, you got no bookings, or you've moved to long-term tenants. Ask for a refund or a prorated credit.
  3. Keep a paper trail. Save the renewal email, your bank notification, screenshots of the toggle, and every reply from support, with dates.
  4. Escalate if they say no. Furnished Finder responds to complaints on its Better Business Bureau profile, which gives you a public, documented channel.
  5. Consider a card dispute only as a last resort. Elliott writes that most disputes over unwanted auto-renewals end in the customer's favor. Furnished Finder has told at least one landlord it would contest a dispute because the terms were accepted. Disputes take time, so weigh that against a roughly $200 charge.

Before you cancel: is Furnished Finder still worth it for you?

For plenty of landlords it is. Furnished Finder is the biggest mid-term rental marketplace in the U.S., with more than 300,000 listings by its own count. Its reported average stay is 102 nights, so a single booking usually covers the annual fee.

It's probably time to stop renewing if:

  • You got no real bookings in the past year, only inquiries that went nowhere.
  • Most of your messages were scams or ghost accounts.
  • You sold the property, or it's now a nightly or 12-month rental.

If you're unsure, there's a middle path: turn auto-renew off now and keep the listing live until it expires.

A free place to list alongside it

If you'd rather not pay a yearly fee for leads, Keyseason is a mid-term rental marketplace for stays of 30 days or more. It's free for owners, with no subscription and nothing to auto-renew.

  • Rent runs through the platform. It's held and released to you 48 hours after move-in, so there's no chasing payments.
  • Renters verify their ID before booking, and you can request a tenant screening report that the renter pays for.
  • Renters pay a 3% fee. You keep your full rent.

You don't have to choose. Plenty of owners keep their Furnished Finder listing and add Keyseason as a second channel.

FAQ

Does hiding my listing stop auto-renew?

No. Hiding only removes the listing from search. You have to turn off the Auto Renew toggle separately.

Will my listing disappear as soon as I turn off auto-renew?

No. It stays active until the end of the term you already paid for.

Can I get a prorated refund?

Furnished Finder's policy says renewals are non-refundable. Asking in writing on the same day still gives you the best chance.

I have several units. Do I turn it off once?

No. Each property or unit has its own subscription and its own toggle.

What if I want to come back later?

You can resubscribe anytime, at the then-current non-promotional rate.
